A Little Break

June 3, 2015

a-blogging-break

I’ve been AWOL on the blog for a few weeks now, so for those wondering where I went, I wanted to check in and say I’m still here! I haven’t quit blogging! Over the past few weeks, I’ve started thinking about the direction I want to take this blog in. I haven’t been 100% happy with the content I’m putting out, so instead of continuing to publish content I don’t completely believe in, I’ve decided to take a break while I figured out exactly what I want to say.

I’ll be back properly in the next few weeks, on a regular schedule, but until then, thanks for bearing with me! I have lots of great things planned including a bit of a redesign. Can’t wait to share it with you. See you soon.

Summer Inspo

April 19, 2015

Maybe it’s the Coachella vibes radiating from across the pond, or the good weather we’ve been having in the UK lately, but I can’t stop thinking about summer and beaches and holidays and ice cream and all that good stuff.  So here’s a little sunny inspo for you…

Minimalist Home Decor // Plants + Flowers

April 3, 2015

My home is not a minimalist paradise. I wish it was. I can’t describe how happy I feel when the house is clean and tidy. I just wish it stayed that way longer. I am doomed to forever be a messy person, I suppose. I like to keep surfaces as clear as possible, without them looking too stark. Everyone seems to be going crazy for succulents these days and I also have a few of these low-maintenance plants dotted around. I have these tiny ones from Ikea. They are SO cute and so far seem to be foolproof (touch wood). It’s nice to have a little greenery in my living room.

I also love having flowers at home. But as much as I like the idea of fresh flowers, they are not something I pick up on a regular basis. A bunch of fresh flowers is usually reserved for a birthday/valentine’s day level event, unlike my mum who ALWAYS has fresh flowers at her house (maybe she should be a blogger)… I’ve been looking for a pretty, cost effective and *buzz word* low-maintenance alternative and found these at OKA. I also really like the idea of using jars and bottles as vases. Always a fan of repurposing!

Healthy Cookbooks : A Wish List

March 25, 2015

cookbooks-wishlist

I get most of my recipes off the internets these days, but nothing beats flicking through a real-life recipe book to get some culinary inspiration. I’ve been trying to introduce more vegetables into my diet and lower my intake of white carbs, and I can already see the benefits of a more nutrient-dense diet in my skin. And so my wellness kick continues! I am OBSESSED with my spiralizer (life changer), and I’m on the hunt for lots more veggie-based inspiration for my kitchen adventures. Here are a few that have caught my eye:

hemsley + hemsley
nourish
the detox kitchen bible
cut the carbs
plenish
plenty

Let me know your recommendations below!
